"HarpHugger" for mic stand

You would never think of performing without trying out a new instrument and the same is true with all "HarpHugger" Products. Please follow these guidelines for optimal performance.

"HarpHugger" for Violin

A new frontier of acoustic sounds starts here. Imagination, skill and practice are needed. The method of attachment to violin is essentially a double spool clamp design routinely used in violin repair.

Obviously the violin was not designed with the idea that a harmonica holder would be clamped to it. Same thing for a microphone stand. Therefore, there is no real way to know the effects of long term use. I can testify that I've seen no damage to my violin caused by my "HarpHugger" in almost a year's use.

Stability:

The best solution that I've found is to invest in the heaviest ,strongest studio stand that I could find. I settled on an Atlas MS 25. It weighs in at about 35 lb. A good boom also. Otherwise- A tripod stand can be fastened to a wider plywood base. Even then you would need to stand on it while playing harmonica. Also consider asking your local welder to add weight and girth to an existing round cast bottom model.

Visibility:

Now you have to set up so that you can see your chording hand (if that's important) whether singing into the vocal mic or playing harmonica. Now everything get's tightened to maximum. Cords are positioned out of sight and taped down. I suggest spending some good practice time here before giging. The goal is to create a seamless transition between singing and playing. Avoid trying to figure it out at the gig.
